Mode of action:
It relaxes and limits the movement of muscles around the injection site as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins.
Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Generalised disorders of muscle activity (e.g. myasthenia gravis, Lambert- Eaton syndrome) (as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
- Infection or inflammation at the proposed injection site (As per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).

Indications for Dysport
- Temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)

Dysport Injection 500 IU
Dysport is prescription only medicine which contains the active ingredient Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex indicated for severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics.
However it is not licensed in the UK for aesthetic use, and as such the prescriber takes full responsibility for prescribing the medicine and for overseeing the patient’s care, monitoring, and any follow up treatment. For use in adults only.

BOTULAX is a peripheral muscle relaxant that contains purified botulinum toxin type A (in combination with haemagglutinin) and sodium chloride (excipient). The mechanism of action of the product is based on the ability of botulinum toxin type A to block the transmission of nerve impulses. Intramuscular administration of the toxin disrupts the synthesis of acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter that ensures neuromuscular conduction) and leads to temporary paralysis of the facial muscles. Frozen facial expressions help relax muscles and smooth wrinkles.
